Dr. Nafisa Shah has been a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since March 2008 and prior to this she was the Nazim of District Khairpur, from 2001 to 2007. She has served as chair of the National Commission for Human Development as well as sitting on the G.S Women’s Parliamentary Caucus between 2008-2013.
Dr. Nafisa Shah has also served as Vice President of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and has headed the National Commission for Human Development in 2011.
Dr. Nafisa Shah holds a Ph.D in Social & Cultural Anthropology from the University of Oxford.
